Advisory · A private practice
A senior hand,
beside the decision.
For boards, the C-suite, and the people they call when the stakes are real. Two mandates: the organization, and the technology now inside it. One standard across both: outcomes in writing, and a senior hand beside you until they are done.
The position
Three things we hold to be true.
I
Transformation and technology are one portfolio now.
There is no operating-model change left that does not embed a technology decision, and no serious technology decision that does not land on an organization. Run them as separate programmes and both slip. We hold them in one hand on purpose.
II
Regulation arrived before habits did.
The EU AI Act is in force, its obligations phase in through 2027, and the transparency duties of Article 50 apply since August 2026. Most organizations will first meet their obligations at audit time. Compliance is an evidence problem long before it is a policy problem, and evidence takes time you do not get back.
III
The governance gap is a competence gap.
The standards exist: ISO/IEC 42001 for managing AI, and ISO 19011, revised in 2026, for auditing around it. The people who can operate and audit them are scarce. The organizations that build that competence early will set terms for the ones that did not.
